By Jesus’ Stripes…
1 Peter 2:24 teaches us that, “…by whose stripes ye were healed.” One might then ask, what does that mean? It means that through the floggings and beatings, (death, resurrection too) sufferings of Christ we have been saved. Jesus was beaten then crucified, then rose from the dead. It is through the sufferings and death of Christ we are “healed” of our sinful nature and given a chance to live a life of freedom and sin less then we do now. God has provided a way to be united with Him, through Jesus which is the only way to be saved. How, then does salvation come? It comes through faith, admitting we are sinners and allowing Christ to live in our hearts through the Holy Spirit as “..without faith it is impossible to please him…(Hebrews 11:6)” God is now asking (Acts 17:30) all people everywhere to repent and believe in Him. You, can pray to Jesus ask Him in your heart and accept His death and resurrection He died for you, he loves you and will give you salvation as a free gift just open your heart to Him. God Bless.
The Gospel
From Corinthians 15 we learn that Christ died and rose from the dead. Paul being very humble tells us that he was not worthy to be called a follower of Christ because he used to persecute the church. But, for Him and for us we learn it is by the grace of God that we have become saved. The Gospel is the good news that Christ the Risen Lord and Savior has given us new life in Him. It tells us that “..flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God” but what does that mean? It means that in and of ourself we can do nothing to earn Heaven. Our flesh or sinful nature has separated us from God. We cannot inherit the Kingdom of God unless Christ be our Lord and Savior. If, we could have made it to Heaven without Christ then the whole point of Christ dying is minimized, but God died on the cross; Christ God in Flesh because their was no other way for our sins to be forgiven. Finally, the best part is the Bible teaches us to repent and believe. No, repentance doesn’t mean to be perfect but it does mean to admit to God we are flawed and we need a relationship with Him and we accept what He did 2,000 years ago on the cross. May, we all trust and follow Him daily. Amen
Without Faith
If anyone says that they have faith and they don’t have works, you must remember that faith without works is dead. Was Abraham not judged by works? When Jesus was on the earth how much did He gain by faith alone? Through, faith Christ kept God’s righteous commandments and fulfilled what the scriptures said would happen. We also know that our faith must be in God and not in man, for man dies but God lives forever and is truly the Lord of good and does not do any evil. We know that our faith and works must be through God and in Him, for all things are possible with God. However, even if you do good works and have strong faith you must accept Jesus as your Savior. For our salvation must happen now for tomorrow Jesus might come. If, Jesus comes back tomorrow and we haven’t repented and asked Jesus into our heart how would living “a good life,” help us? You, will not be saved by not doing really, really evil things or simply living a “good life”. What, good would it be if we could hate the Lord and still go to Heaven? Why would we want to enter His presence if we never knew Him? We, should believe in Christ, accept Him and admit our sins do good and we will enter into His Kingdom with praise. What, would the result be if we could reject Jesus and still go to Heaven? We, would not be able to stand being in His presence and God would be pleased as “But without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6)”. So, we need to live with God in our hearts and lives, even though we sin God is loving and always forgiving us. When, we sin God knows are hearts we should be careful “grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Eph. 4:30”. We know that God will not forget our works, He knows when we love Him and He has always loved us (We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19). May the grace of God be with you, as you do good in Jesus name.
Jesus is the way!
Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)”. The path to Heaven is found through Jesus Christ, He died for our sins and rose from the dead. This is good news that although we have been separated from God because of our sin, we are united with Him through Jesus. There, is one way and His name is Jesus. The Bible tells us “…God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 1 John 5:11”. The way to Heaven is very simple “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31)”. We can argue whether the Christian life is hard or easy but one thing it’s simple. God laid down a perfect plan of redemption through Jesus without such none of us could go to Heaven. Before Jesus came to earth “The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30).” God, has a day planned in which he will judge the world through Jesus Christ, God has guaranteed this will happen and proved it by raising Christ from the dead (Acts 17:31 tells us so). May, God bless and guide us all. Amen
